The Redlands Airport Association will once again hold the”Stuff a Plane with Toys for Tots” at the west ramp of Redlands Municipal Airport on November 17, 2018 from 10 am to 3 pm. This is the kickoff event for our annual toy drive.
We will have music, aviation exhibits, an airport open house, food, raffles and fun. The cost of admission? Just bring a new unwrapped toy, or make a cash donation to Toys for Tots.
In addition to kicking off our annual Toys for Tots Toy drive, we will be sponsoring a community blood drive. The nice folks at LifeStream have already signed on to join us again.
We are trying to amp up our display of cars, motorcycles and aircraft that we have had in years past. So in 2018, we will be actually having a show entitled Wings and Wheels. Come on out and see the neat rides on display. Peoples choice awards will be given to the best car, motorcycle and aircraft.
Wings and Wheels Exhibitors: If you are interested in showing off your ride at the event and competing for an award, registration is not required but is requested by November 14th as space is limited. Our 2017 toy drive continued until December 1st. It was a great haul! We collected about 73 bags with an estimated 2500 toys. We also donated almost $1200.00 to Toys for Tots. Why did we do so well? In addition to the efforts of our members we were helped by the employees and their management at the following businesses.
Please return their kindness with your patronage of their businesses…
The money and toys collected were delivered to the USMC Reserve unit at 29 Palms on 12-2-17 by 24 pilots and crews. We are sure we made some children smile in San Bernardino and Riverside County as a result of our efforts. Here’s a link to photos of our 12/2/17 toy airlift to 29 Palms:
