Toys for Tots Airlift, December 7, 2019
Our “Stuff a Plane with Toys for Tots” event on Saturday November 16th was a huge success. With the help of all the donors, sponsors, and volunteers the amount of toys collected, once again, appears to be greater than we collected last year. Way to go!
On Saturday, December 7th, (weather permitting) volunteer pilots will be flying the toys from Redlands Airport (REI) to 29 Palms Airport (TNP). This is where they will be delivered to the USMC. This is not an RAA sponsored fly-out. Due to permit requirements and liability the RAA will no longer organize, manage or sponsor this fly-out.
We are hearing the fly-out is still on as individual volunteer pilots will continue the toy airlift to the USMC. This year the fly-out will be managed by volunteer pilots. These pilots will participate at their own expense and liability. The RAA will simply communicate any details shared with us about the fly-out by volunteer pilots.
As in years past, this has been a fun fly-out. Pilots and crews dress for the occasion in any type of holiday attire or accessories to get in the holiday spirit. Here is the current information we have received about the airlift on 12-7.
