UPS will be conducting an evaluation flight at San Bernardino, Intl. The flight is scheduled for Wednesday, June 19th between 1700 and 2100 local and will involve several approaches to runways 6 and 24. Per Captain David Zamiska, UPS, the runway 24 approaches were designed to avoid the traffic pattern at KREI and proximal terrain while enabling a stabilized approach, as per UPS Standard Operating Procedures.
Captain David Zamiska has shared their number one goal in designing these approaches is to enhance safety for arrivals into runway 24 at KSBD, while providing adequate separation from KREI operations. UPS aircraft may be seen operating south, east and north of KREI during the evaluation. The altitudes should not conflict with KREI traffic.
