Stuff a Plane with Toys for Tots

The Redlands Airport Association is once again going to “Stuff a Plane with Toys for Tots” at the Redlands Municipal Airport on November 4th from 10 am to 3 pm at the Redlands Municipal Airport.

We believe our airport is a valuable asset to the local community. Our sponsorship of “Stuff a Plane with Toys for Tots” is a great way to share our municipal airport by having an aviation themed event designed to get the community involved in a worthy cause; donating toys to less fortunate children for the holidays.

Last year, the event brought over 300 people to the airport, we collected over 500 toys and $1000 that was donated to the US Marine Corp Reserve Toys for Tots campaign. In December, the toys and cash were delivered to the USMC at 29 Palms airport by a small armada of private aircraft (approximately 30) predominately based at Redlands Airport.  The donations made to the USMC 29 Palms personnel were used for distribution to needy children in Southern California.

This will be our third year holding this event and our goal is to collect even more toys and cash this year for Toys for Tots. This year will truly be a benefit event to help others. Want to save a life? The folks from Lifestream will be there so you can donate a pint of blood.

Do you need a furry friend, or are you an animal lover? Well, you can learn how to adopt a homeless dog or cat from YAPS. Pilots N Paws will talk about how they help with pet adoptions and The Page Project will be there looking for old towels and bedding material, dog & cat food, cleaning supplies and other misc items for animal shelters.

Once again the US Marines will be at our front gate. We will have cool planes, cars and motorcycles on display, an open house for people to visit our great airport. Some of our brave firefighters from Redlands Fire department will be there to talk about their work. Volunteers from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Aero Squadron will also be there with their aircraft and will talk about their role in the community. Redlands EAA Chapter 845  will be conducting Young Eagle flights for kids . There will be great food and drinks available for purchase from the great folks at Chick-fil-A Citrus Plaza.

For those wishing to show their plane, car, truck, or motorcycle, please plan to arrive between 8:30 – 9:45 am. We need to have the vehicles in place prior to the community arriving to limit movement on the ramp. It’s all about safety. Thank you.

The event is free to guests, but we are asking that they bring a new unwrapped toy, or make a donation. Exhibitors wishing to participate in our event can do so at no cost.
